Well-Care Visits

Your child should not ONLY see the pediatrician when they are sick!  “Well-care” visits are strongly recommended as part of preventative pediatric care.  Beginning in infancy, children should be seen by the doctor on a regular basis.  These routine exams give the doctor the best opportunity to observe the progress of your child’s physical and mental growth and development; to detect problems through screening tests, and to provide immunizations.  This is an excellent time for parents to raise questions and concerns about a child’s development, nutrition, safety and overall well-being.

Immunizations are one of the best preventative medicine practices that physicians have available today. Thanks to vaccines, many of the serious and deadly diseases that plagued people years ago are infrequently seen in the United States today.  We follow the immunization schedules recommended by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP).  These organizations (and others) have done extensive research and have determined that scheduled vaccinations protect children from serious illnesses and diseases during their most vulnerable ages.  For this reason, we do not support alternative or delayed vaccination schedules.
